Possible Mechanism of Astrology
Forgive me if I have raised some issues that are debatable and are flawed or have no satisfactory answers. We should not be too hard on ourselves, we are discussing fine issues that the scientific world cannot even grasp yet. I just want to add a bit about what we are in relation to our birth chart and where the birth chart is stored: we tend to think of the two synonymously, we feel that the planets are acting on "us".
How can these astrological electromagnetic 'rays' possibly affect us, how are they not be affected by larger electromagnetic fields? How do they pass right through the Earth as though it is not even there? The answer is probably because that is not what is happening.
We have to bear in mind that our astrological charts are not stored within our bodies. They are simply a record of the positions of the planets at the moment of our birth. It is that record, imprint on the cosmos, that is affected by the planets as they move. Likewise, our progressed chart is also a record of the positions of the planets so many days after our birth. It is not something that physically exists in the material world we live in. Hence it would be a worthless excercise to try and build something like a large Faraday cage to protect us from harmful rays, should we so desire. It seems these influences are operating on a dimensional level that is higher than our own. Somehow the activities of our dimension are recorded at a higher level where they exist in a form that is real enough for subsequent activities to act on them, transits, progressions, solar arcs, etc. The 'rays' are merely mathematical angles depicting the condition of the cosmos at any moment, just like the hands of a watch depict the time.
Imagine a primitive on a dark continent finding a watch lying in the bush a couple of hundred years ago. Imagine that every noon a colonial settlement across a strait fired off a canon. Imagine how the primitive might think that it was actually the watch that was causing this loud noise to occur. Every day, when the short hand moved right to the very top, it caused a loud bang to occur. We see how it is easy to fall into the astrological trap of causality. The watch does not send out a 'ray' to cause something to happen at a distance. The watch and the canon have no connection whatsoever.
We have no connection whatsoever to our birth charts, other than that they reflect the conditions of the universe surrounding our birth date and time, and hence when our canon will go off, so to speak, and other circumstances regarding our clockwork lot in life. The universe is happening a certain way, all we have discovered are some methods to observe it as it happens.

"Like Riemann before him, Kaluza assumed that light is a disturbance caused by the rippling of this higher dimension, the fifth.
Kaluza described Einstein's field equations for gravity in five dimensions, not the usual four. Riemann's metric tensors can be formulated in any number of dimensions.
He showed that these five dimensional equations contained within them Einstein's earlier four dimensional theory, with an additional piece. But what shocked Einstein is that this additional piece was precisely Maxwell's theory of light.
Einstein thought that matter could be viewed as kinks, vibrations or distortions of space time. Matter was a concentrated distortion of space. In other words, everything we see around us is an illusion, some form of crumpling or condensation of hyperspace.
Light is the warping of the geometry of higher dimensional space. The fifth metric is the electromagnetic field of Maxwell, while the remaining 4x4 block is the old four dimensional metric of Einstein. In one stroke, Kaluza unified the theory of gravity with light simply by adding another dimension.
So five dimensional gravity fits both the ten components of Einstein's field and the four components of Maxwell's field. There is one leftover scalar particle.
Kaluza proposed that the four dimensional model of Einstein were too small to accommodate both the electromagnetic and gravitational forces.
Likewise, the five dimensional model is too small to accommodate the astrological effect. We need to view it from a six dimensional perspective.
Why is there stuff? Why should there be matter in the universe? Why should there be energy? Kaluza and Klein suggest that matter itself might emerge like a shadow from a shadow hand puppet as a lower-dimensional echo of a higher-dimensional geometry. Einstein was entranced with this idea, and many physicists after him have followed suit.
Quantum physics has to allow for a bizarre phenomenon called non-locality: that an action (say, a measurement) taken on Particle A causes an instantaneous change in Particle B, even though there's no connection between them, no mechanism by which a change could be effected."
We know that non-locality is not the mechanism of astrology; this is simple to deduce. We know that the fixed star, Regulus, exerts a powerful influence on our lives. If non-locality was the mechanism, it would not affect us from its current observable position. It takes light 77 years to travel from Regulus to us. The point at which it currently acts on us is where it was 77 years ago. In other words, the astrological effects of planets and stars is not instanteous, it acts at the speed of light. It is also not classically synchronistic, since synchronicity relates to time, and most likely, not distance. Because the astrological effect relates to distance, it therefore falls under the domain of electromagnetism, yet it defies the currently known electromegnetic laws since it operates in such a manner that the effects do not diminish over distance.
To understand this, we merely have to consider the effects of Pluto. The effects of Pluto are amongst the most powerful one can experience astrologically. It easily equals the strength of Jupiter and Saturn, which are thousands of times larger and also much closer. We know that the astrological effect is obviously not gravitational. Gravity is a dumb force. If the mechanism of astrology was gravity, all planets would have identical effects on us. We know for certain that this is not the case; for instance, the effects of Mars and Venus on us are totally different. The one is a course, intense energy, the other is a refined, subtle energy. Moveover, if it were driven by gravity, there would be lulls in the effects. When Pluto is effectively hidden to us, behind the Earth, and has to operate through its mass, the effect would be totally swamped and nullified by the sheer overwhelming gravity of the Earth. We know that this is not the case. No matter where Pluto is, whether able to directly influence us or whether having to act through the mass of the Earth, its effects are exactly the same. Somehow its rays penetrate or pass through matter as though it was not even there. Astrological effects are sometimes described as 'symbolic', which in an archetypal sense is true, yet physically it appears to act by means of rays. These rays, however, do not obey all the known laws of electromagnetism: they do not diminish over distance, and they do not appear to be diminished by the proximity of large other electromagnetic fields.
Kaku, in Hyperspace, says: "According to superstring theory, the symmetries of the subatomic realm are but remnants of the symmetry of higher-dimensional space. This means that the beauty and symmetry found in nature can ultimately be traced back to higher-dimensional space. For example, snowflakes create beautiful, hexagonal patterns, none of which are precisely the same. These snowflakes and crystals, in turn, have inherited their structure from the way in which their molecules have been geometrically arranged. This arrangement is mainly determined by the electron shells of the molecule, which in turn take us back to the rotational symmetries of the quantum theory. All the symmetries of the lower energy universe that we observe n chemical elements are due to the symmetries catalogued by the Standard Model, which in turn can be derived by compactifying the heterotic string.
The symmetries that we see around us, from rainbows to blossoming flowers to crystals, may ultimately be viewed as manifestations of the original ten-dimensional theory. Riemann and Einstein had hoped to find a geometric understanding of why forces can determine the motion and the nature of matter. But they were missing the key ingredient in showing the relationship between wood and marble. This missing link is most likely superstring theory. With the ten dimensional string theory, we see that the geometry of the string may ultimately be responsible for both the forces and the structure of matter."
This natural settling of symmetries into alignment with their composite structures is possibly the mechanism of astrology. Just as a snowflake settles into the hexagon, so too do the easy astrological aspects conform to the hexagon. The trines and sextiles give ease. Likewise, the hard edges in molecular composites, the squares and oppositions, bring about inharmonious influences in astrology. The lesser aspects are simply harmonics of these base configurations.
To Sum Up: Astrology is the study of the effects of the asteroids, planets and stars on a thing called a birth chart.
A birth chart is a map of the skies when you were born. It is merely a photograph.
How can known 'forces' possibly affect things displayed in a photograph? Stop looking for a force as the mechanism!
